Empowering Young Minds & Supporting Positive Growth
Life is tough, especially for children and young people of today. In the fast paced and often uncertain world we live in, young people face significant challenges with anxiety and mental health. The pressures of social media, academic expectations, fitting into a school system that is out dated and considered 'broken' by many, could lead to feelings of isolation, self doubt, failure and poor mental health.

So What Is Mental Health?

Mental health is how we think, feel and behave. With this in mind, it is imperative to act fast or even better, be prepared for prevention of poor mental health. You will often hear the phrase 'early intervention' and quite simply this to us would be taking headache pills at the first sign of a fuzzy head and possibly keeping an eye on our water intake to help prevent a headache coming...

So what are we doing to support and encourage our children to manage and maintain good mental health? We probably are not doing anything! We may have not even given the topic of mental health any thought. So at worst, some of us may just be in the throws of firefighting because our children are already in the middle of a poor mental health episode.

How amazing would it be if we could teach and encourage our little ones and young people all about good mental health nice and early! We could give them the skills and tools to recognise how they themselves are thinking, feeling and behaving. Teaching them how to manage those thoughts and feelings allowing them to move forward positively.
Here are just a few benefits of good mental health;
-
better physical health
-
enhanced resilience
-
positive self esteem
-
strengthen relationships
-
positive life choices
-
positive learning
-
academic achievements

There maybe no escaping poor mental health and we may experience episodes throughout our lives but it is how we manage it that is important.
